On account of the coronavirus outbreak, Dior has decided to delay the release of its highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 collaboration. The official release was due to be scheduled to launch through an international draw next week.
The draw was intended to offer consumers exclusive access to buy a pair of Air Dior High trainers or grant them access to one of the international pop-up shops selling accessories and apparel from the Air Dior capsule.
The official statement from Nike reads:
“To ensure the safety of all, in accordance with recommendations by public authorities, and in order to reinforce the coordination of international measures, Dior has decided to postpone its international draw for the launch of the Air Dior capsule collection realized in collaboration with Jordan Brand.”
The new release date for the Dior x Air Jordan collaboration was reported by Nike to be announced in the next following weeks.
During the fashion week celebrations, the trainer and collaborative capsule had been vigorously teased further hyping up every sneaker enthusiast. Within the anticipated collection, includes the limited edition Air Jordan 1 High OG Dior, Air Jordan 1 Low Dior, capsule accessories and ready-to-wear apparel.
The Dior x Air Jordan 1 High trainers are rumoured to be limited to only 8,500 pairs for the retail price of $2000 USD.
The launch of the second draw for the Air Dior Low trainers is currently unchanged and is still scheduled for the end of May / beginning of June.
