Balenciaga’s SS22 show was a special episode of The Simpsons

The Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week closed out with a ten-minute film by The Simpsons, in which the citizens of Springfield modeled the latest in prêt-à-porter

The film was commissioned by Balenciaga to end a show that featured spectators modeling and models spectating: “It was another way for [Demna] Gvasalia to cement his position as the leading disrupter in fashion, and this time with the rarest commodity — a sense of humor.”

The special ten-minute episode of the cult cartoon, saw Homer sourcing one of Demna Gvasalia’s green gowns for Marge’s birthday after he found her lusting after it in a glossy fashion mag.

Cut to the Georgian designer himself taking a private jet to Springfield to sort out its ‘style deprived’ residents with some hot Balenciaga garms, and Chief Wiggum, Patty and Selma, and Smithers – in a full red sequinned look – walking the Paris runway, and the assembled crowd watching going wild.

Their normies looks wow the un-wowable Anna Wintour, and the show is a hit!

The collection itself was made up of Balenciaga classiques, including XXL puffers, pumped-up tailoring, huge shouldered gowns and coats, 90s dad-inspired denim jeans, and Clip-Art printed dresses.
