Ebay has announced the release of 13 limited-edition digital collectibles in collaboration with Web3 platform OneOf and their eco-conscious technology. Through this collaboration, it allows people to confidently buy and sell high passion and high value items.

The “Genesis” NFT Collection will include 3D and animated renditions of iconic athletes who have graced Sports Illustrated covers over the years through animated 3D renderings. The collectibles range in price from $10 USD for the basic green rarity to $1,500 USD for the diamond tier NFTs.

“With blockchain technology making digital collectibles possible—and to complement the nostalgia we feel for the bygone era of these sporting legends—the Sports Illustrated NFT collection hearkens to the original collectability fads of yesteryear: action figures,” Oneof explains. “Each legend in this collection is a hero to so many, and now as NFTs, they are memorialised as such.”

Following a sale, buyers receive digital assets via a simple redemption link sent via chat or email. The assets, which are hosted on Polygon, can be traded on the secondary market through OneOf.
