After the first unveiling last summer, Dior’s S22 collection, ‘Cactus Jack Dior’ is finally being released. The idea that was birthed by Kim Jones and musical artist Travis Scott, will finally drop July 13.

The collaboration first caught our attention on June 18 when Scott donned items from the Cactus Jack x Dior line while hanging out with the Kardashian-Jenner family, including a black bucket hat and an acid-washed t-shirt with a hand-drawn co-branded logo. Following the tragedy at Astroworld, the collaboration—which made its premiere during Kim Jones’ Dior Spring/Summer 2022 collection—was called off.

But now, we see Cactus Jack x Dior sneaker features a skateboarding-inspired design. The shoe from the stalled collaboration features Travis Scott’s recognised neutral black and brown tones enhanced by Dior’s characteristic icy blue tint. It has a stocky design complemented with a clunky lacing system and flat gum sole.

According to Dior, the rapper’s individual style served as inspiration for the collection. It combines skatewear and vintage Dior designs with elements of Scott’s individual style. When compared to the Dior elegance, the Cactus Jack influence is fairly noticeable. Jones mentions how the inspiration came “from the meeting of the worlds of Christian Dior and Travis Scott, particularly their gardens. So the [fashion show] set is designed that you come from Travis’ garden in Texas to Christian Dior’s childhood garden in Granville.” See below.

Starting on July 13, it will be accessible online at the label’s official e-commerce site. The following day, the collection will be introduced in Dior boutiques.
