Ahead of her highly anticipated album, Be Right Back, that is released May 14th, Jorja Smith has dropped another single “Gone”. Smith provides her fans yet again with an effortless and emotive track, with the video conveying a similar tone.

Smith sings a sorrowful tune about the struggles of losing someone and the difficulties of moving on. This relatable issue is reinforced through the visuals that have a familiar effect, as if shot on a phone or home camera in a DIY style. Jorja appears casual and natural as she’s filmed strolling at night, giving the words a chance to be heard.

Filmed by Erin Corrian-Alexis and edited by Ivor Alice and Smith herself, she commented on her song, saying: “There’s something about being able to write about one thing and for it to mean so many different things to others”.

We can’t wait for the release of her new album, but you can listen to “Addicted” and “Gone” now. Watch her new release below.
