It’s no news that high-end fashion labels have penetrated the athletic market through recent partnerships this past year. We take a look at SECOND drop this week from Balenciaga x Adidas collection after both brands cut ties with Kanye West.

The collab includes both footwear and clothes, and successfully melds the two businesses’ distinctive design aesthetics. Although they initially appear to be old adidas basics, the tracksuits, t-shirts, hoodies, and other items have been cut similarly to Balenciaga’s mainline. The water bottle and dad cap accessories, the denim pieces, giant MA-1, and range of bags lean into Three Stripes.

It’s a collaboration that Balenciaga have said “recontextualizes elements of sportswear that have been a part of Balenciaga’s creative language.” The usual oversized track jacket by Balenciaga, baggy track pants turned pantashoes, water bottles, jewellery, purses, and of course the Triple S, Speed Trainer, and Stan Smith sneakers are all present and correct for this entire collection. With the Stan Smith sneakers, Balenciaga are highlighting the love for ‘pre loved’ sneakers as a worn-in aesthetic.

Would you cop?

Prices at Balenciaga range from $795 for an oversized tee to $4,800 for a padded bathrobe, with items like the tracksuit jacket, bomber, over-the-knee knife boot, and soccer shirt lingering in between. On the website, you can get such athletic-luxe pieces as well as other recent releases from the Balenciaga and Adidas collaboration.
