Tapping into the archives ahead of the EURO 2020 Championship

Having discussed his personal connection to football and the importance of this collaboration, Rav Matharu’s label clothsurgeon has teamed up with Sports Direct to launch a limited-edition capsule collection for the retailer’s ‘Just A Game?!’ campaign ahead of the EURO 2020 Championship.

Operating out of its East London atelier, clothsurgeon has been provided access to Sports Direct’s extensive archive of football kits. Revered for its detailed craftsmanship, the range fuses the luxury brand’s deconstructed aesthetic to pay homage to iconic jerseys of the past, and as acknowledgment of Matharu’s own history: having played professionally in his formative years, his football dreams were shattered for reasons beyond his control.

The four-piece unisex collection features a tracksuit jacket, bottoms, zip-up vest and canvas bucket hat. Utilising a black silhouette, its patchwork design boasts flashes of red and white with dual-branded embroidery for a sleek ready-to-wear range.
