TikToker Charlie D’Amelio has featured on Prada’s ‘Linea Rossa’ campaign for Fall/Winter 2022, inspired by the wintersport season coming up. However, the campaign has raised a few eyebrows on Prada’s edits and choice of influencer.

Photographer Norbert Schoerner (see here) captures the social media sensation, sporting a crop top with Prada’s famous red stripe marking on the front. The ad includes White Sebastien, Shi Sherry, McClish Aviana, and Dostine Emanuel, embodies the unending spirit of wanderlust against a sci-fi-inspired, icy landscape.

In typical Prada style, nylon is used to create the garments, which are emblazoned with the recognisable Linea Rossa logo. The sportswear-focused collection seen in the artwork features skiwear-like padding for protection. Charli D’Amelio is wearing Prada’s new $4,900 minimalist puffer jacket, $1,220 sleeveless ‘Tech Rec Nylon Piqué’ top, and $1,650 leggings.

But the premium fashion house is generating a stir in the industry as there was also some doubt over the campaign’s target audience, given that Charli’s core viewership is mostly made up of Gen Z and young people who “don’t have a credit card.” So whilst some may agree Prada have missed the mark, we ask does this campaign really fall short of expectations?
