Afterpay announced the debut of designer NFTs on Tuesday as part of its third partnership with IMG to provide the New York Fashion Week experience to more consumers. Access to previously exclusive events and ownership of artwork produced by top fashion designers in the world will become available, thanks to the NYFW digital collectibles.

For the first time, Afterpay will let customers purchase designer NFTs by dividing the $100 retail price into four interest-free instalments. The designer NFT Keys will contribute all sales revenue to Free Arts NYC. In addition to the NFT keys from the designers, Afterpay will also give out a small number of its initial free NFTs. The free NFT will grant access to features including a Tidal HiFi Plus 6-Month Free Trial, admission to an Instagram community for close friends of NYFW, and a request to RSVP for NYFW: The Talks sessions.
In order to create limited-edition NFTs that customers can mint, Afterpay has teamed up with five renowned designers: Altu by Joseph Altuzarra, AnOnlyChild, Jonathan Simkhai, Kim Shui, and The Blonds. Each designer used inspiration from their Spring/Summer ’23 designs to develop their individual NFT, which was presented with a number of limited edition items or often out-of-reach NYFW activities.
Owners of the NFT for Altu by Joseph Altuzarra’s keys will be able to choose between a membership to a New York City art museum or a limited-edition leather tote and T-shirt. With Kim Shui’s key, you can choose between purchasing a hoodie with her distinctive dragon emblem or seats to her September 12 runway show. A limited-edition belt bag or an invitation to the designer’s NYFW after party are included with AnOnlyChild’s key.
