Gucci and SUPERPLASTIC, the global leader in limited-edition vinyl toys, animated celebrities, and digital collectibles, have collaborated to create SUPERGUCCI, a limited series of CryptoJanky NFTs and ceramic sculptures.
The first SUPERGUCCI drop, which will be released in three parts, will include ten exclusive NFTs and accompanying ceramic sculptures, all of which have been handmade in Italy and co-designed by both labels. According to a press release, “each extremely limited and valuable NFT draws inspiration from Gucci’s signature patterns, icons, and symbols, reinterpreted through the lens of SUPERPLASTIC synthetic celebrities and artists, Janky & Guggimon.”
To commemorate the collaboration, SUPERLASTIC’s animated celebrities visited the digital Gucci Vault, the brand’s online concept store designed by creative director Alessandro Michele, where they immersed themselves in both Gucci’s past and future. Following Gucci’s numerous virtual experiences and its Aria NFT, as well as SUPERPLASTIC’s widely profitable Janky Heist NFT drop, the collaboration reflects both labels’ desire to experiment within the metaverse.
Along with the release of the collaboration, Gucci Vault will release its sixth collection of pre-owned vintage pieces, each of which has been hand-selected by Michele and the House’s archivists.
SUPERGUCCI’s first drop is available now on SUPERPLASTIC’s website and through Gucci Vault.
