Balenciaga‘s runway show at Paris Fashion Week was undoubtedly a striking immersive experience for its Fall 2022 collection – but also a message of love to Ukraine refugees.

The luxury fashion house invited guests to their latest fashion show by sending them personalised broken iPhones. They were soon welcomed into a blizzard-like snow sphere, where models were shown walking through fake snow, some in oversized pieces including turtlenecks, pants, and jersey hoodies.

Balenciaga creative director, Demna, who left his home country as a refugee, recited a poem in the Ukrainian language to honour Ukraine’s refugees. Attendees were greeted with large shirts in Ukrainian colours accompanied with a personalised note from Demna.

Kim Kardashian was one of the 500+ attendees, who made a yellow statement in her outstanding  Balenciaga fit. She took to Instagram stories to share the look which showed her covered entirely in Balenciaga branded tape wrapped around her by hand. This was paired along with a matching version of the brand’s cult Hourglass handbag which was also smothered in the bright yellow and black tape.

Balenciaga also premiered EPHEA™ — a mycelium-based, eco-friendly material exclusively developed for the brand. It derives from the vegetative body of fungi and was used in one of the coats displayed at the show. Other outerwear pieces included leather jackets, bombers, denim and track jackets.

Observe some of the collection above and expect Balenciaga to begin releasing more as  2022 draws near to end.
