With concerts cancelled and postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, sparked the intuition of introducing performances within the digital realm. Last week saw Travis Scott pioneering a 10 minute futuristic virtual set on Fortnite, where he debuted his collaborative track ‘THE SCOTTS’ with Kid Cudi.
Within the first 24 hours of its release, the track soared to #1 on Spotify’s global chart with 7.4 million streams. The exponential streaming rate resulted ‘THE SCOTTS’ to become the biggest global Spotify streaming debut of the year so far, surpassing Billie Eilish’s ‘No Time to Die‘.
It was also brought to our attention that ‘THE SCOTTS’ and Travis Scott’s Astronomical Tour managed to also break Fortnite’s record by attracting 12.3 million concurrent players who joined to view the digital event.
