In December, from the moment Louis Vuitton teased that there would be an upcoming Virgil Abloh and NIGO collaboration, design speculations arose in response to the excitement of the release. Now, after months of anticipation, the LV2 lookbook for the collaborative range has finally been official unveiled.
Key pieces within the collaboration include denim bucket hats, coats and jackets influenced by London’s mod era and, more unexpectedly, a range of more tailored designs from blazers to fitted suits.
The collection has been stylised and defined with the elements of Louis Vuitton’s signature Damier pattern, alongside appearances of the reputable LV monogram. However, it is both Virgil Abloh and NIGO’s sensibility of streetwear trends which brought together the collective assortment.
Leather goods, such as tote bags, feature layered panelling in the form of a drip, producing a youthful psychedelic aesthetic. On the back of a black padded jacket depicts the words “LV Made”, a small nod to Human Made, NIGO’s label.
Though the release date is yet to be announced, we are expecting the launch will take place this summer on the basis of the range being a 2020 pre-autumnal collection.
