LOUIS VUITTON X NIKE AIR FORCE 1 DROP

Produced outside of Nike Factories for the first time ever, nine editions of the Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh dropped yesterday. They feature the iconic logo of #LouisVuitton together with the AF1’s sneaker’s traditional codes.

At launch, several colorways were made available, including flashier pairs in multicoloured and gold, white low and mid, and black suede. The three coloured pairs, shown here in red, blue, and green with a white toe box, heel, and panelling, have to be our favourites. The Louis Vuitton monogrammed mid with Virgil Abloh’s graffiti design on the lateral side of the shoe is the visually striking pair.

These updated sneakers hit on many levels by being both an item of pure luxury and making reference to the DJ E-Z Rock rendition of It Takes Two. They were embossed with Louis Vuitton’s monogram, dressed in Damier-checked leather, and branded with the traditional Nike “AIR” across the midsole.

Those who were able to grab a pair, were set back $2,750 for the Air Force 1 Low would and two different versions of the Air Force 1 Mid would have cost $3,450. However, if you weren’t fortunate enough to score a pair, discover the nine high top and low top #LVandNike variants.

A clean pair of all-white AF1s is always a good idea, especially if they are made of calf leather that has the LV monogram imprinted on it.

It would be an understatement to call the Air Force 1 a symbol of “streetwear,” and no one knew this better than Virgil Abloh. After his passing, these shoes were tribute to how influential and revolutionary his vision was and continues to be.
