Taking place in the Diriyah Arena, Saudi Arabia, Tommy Fury defeated Jake Paul in what was possibly the most anticipated matchup of novice boxers in history. Fury managed to overcome a late knockdown to beat Jake Paul and become the first boxer to accomplish so.

Fury had the judges on his side even though he was knocked off his feet in the final round; they gave him two scores of 76-73 and one of 75-74. Jake Paul made it very apparent right away following the fight that he disagreed with the judges’ decision and that, despite it being a fantastic contest, he will be asking a rematch. He admitted to the audience that he injured his arm citing those problems as the primary reasons why he did not perform as effectively as he could have. Overall the two competitors squared off in an eight-round fight, and Fury prevailed on a split decision.

Fury said: “For the past two-and-half years, this is all that’s consumed my life. Tonight I made my own legacy – I am Tommy Fury. Whereas Jake bounced back to say: “Don’t judge me by my wins, I’ll come back stronger.”
