“Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton,” said Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton.

Louis Vuitton has announced that it would be the official trophy travel case provider for the forthcoming 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. As if winning a prize wasn’t impressive enough, bringing it home in an LV monogram case does the trick.

The case was uncovered at the Stade de France stadium, during a test match between France and New Zealand. The unique case, which will house the Webb Ellis Cup, was handcrafted by Louis Vuitton’s skilled artisans.

The outside is coated in the label’s characteristic Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas and embellished with a “V” that stands for both Victory and Vuitton. The colours, which are blue, white, and red, are inspired by those used in the competition. Hand-painted Roman numerals XV on the laterals indicate the 15 players of a rugby union squad. “The case is lined with beautiful Louis Vuitton leather, in the same Pantone blue colour, for the first time in the trophy trunk series,” LV reveals.

Louis Vuitton has already designed trophy cases for some of the world’s most prestigious events. Its stellar resume includes mentioning a few, the FIFA World Cup, the League of Legends World Championships, the NBA Finals, and the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix.

“This Official Travel Case is an outstanding example of Louis Vuitton’s unrivalled knowledge and workmanship.” “We are honoured to host the Webb Ellis Cup from now until the completion of the event in 2023,” stated France 2023 CEO Claude Atcher.
The 2023 Rugby World Cup will be the tenth edition in history, taking place between September 8 and October 28, 2023, and will also mark the 200th anniversary of the invention of rugby.
