Kid Cudi has shared his new album, “Entergalatic”, released along with an animated Netflix film – his latest project contains some of his most purely pleasurable music in the past ten years.
“Entergalactic is everything I’ve always wanted to do, create a long-form visual companion to an album,” Cudi says. The 14-track album includes the additional tune “Burrow,” a Ty collaboration titled “Can’t Shake Her,” as well as cameos from 2 Chainz, Don Toliver, Steve Aoki, and Dot da Genius. “It all started with the music which helped bring this storyline and these characters to life. Entergalactic is unlike anything I’ve ever done, certainly my most ambitious project to date; I can’t wait for you to finally experience it.”
Entergalactic, co-produced by Kenya Barris, the creator of Black-ish, and directed by Fletcher Moules, stars Cudi as Jabari, a comic book artist based in New York City who is poised to break out. He has bright job possibilities, but they are nothing compared to the sparks that flare when he meets Meadow, his new neighbour (Jessica Williams).
However, Cudi may be done with music after the release of the Netflix special that goes along with the album, suggesting that he’s looking to pursue other endeavours. Over the past few years, Cudi has progressively accumulated an amazing filmography and begun to appear in more television programmes and motion pictures.
Cudi has a tonne of films coming out soon, including his first-ever directorial effort, Teddy. Additionally, he will appear in Silent Night, John Woo’s eagerly awaited comeback to Hollywood filmmaking. Therefore, it is clear that he is moving on with new endeavours.
