Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele is expanding horizons to Major League Baseball (MLB) as this Friday (April 22) sees the Gucci x MLB collaboration go live. The capsule will be released on Gucci Vault, the brand’s online concept store which launched last year.
This link up with the Major League Baseball™ association is set to bring various unique decorate apparel pieces especially due to the range of MLB teams including the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, and San Francisco Giants. Varsity jackets and zipped hooded jackets make the majority of this collection.
The campaign visuals portray the pieces being dropped from the model’s hands, which highlights Michele’s creativity representing Gucci’s fun and play feel. The collection’s hats are also thrown into the playful mix as green sherpa and snakeskin cover the caps.
There have been rumours of this collaboration showcased by New York Yankees-inspired houndstooth coats, hats, beanies and more Since the luxury house’s Fall/Winter runway show back in 2018. Michele has been frequently wearing the Yankees baseball cap, a possible favourite of his and so this collaboration may not come so much as a surprise after all.
Stay tuned for the drop on Friday April 22.
