Last week Chip dropped his new single “10 Commandments” ahead of his new mixtape Snakes and Ladders which is dropping on the 29th January. On the track, Chip (formerly known as Chipmunk when he released pop music) fires lines at Stormzy, raising their beef for the fourth time. The UK rapper spits lines like, “Yo, one minute you’re on home invasions / Next minute you’re at strangers, paintin” and “One minute it’s ‘F**k the government, f**k Boris’ / Next minute you’re tellin’ people ‘vote”
The pair appeared to get on up until March 2020, when Chip released “Waze” with Skepta and Young Ads stating that Stormzy wasn’t the king of grime like he believed. Last October, footage was released that allegedly showed Stormzy outside Chip’s house in Essex and of course, this was followed by an attack from Chip on “Flowers”: “I know where you live too, but that is not the point of this / Pull up, catch me lackin’, plan failed, there’s no avoidin’ this.” This isn’t the first time Chip has been caught up in grime feuds; he’s fallen out Bugzy Malone, Tinie Tempah, Saskilla and Big Narstie before too. His beef with Bugzy seems to have been squashed now though as he’s featured on Bugzy’s newest track.
Snakes and Ladders will be out at the end of the month and includes 19 new tracks, featuring a range of artists from Headie One, Dizzee Rascal and MoStack.
