The annual music and art event took place in Commodore Barry Park, Brooklyn last weekend. An escape from all the white supremacist hate currently going on in America, this festival offered acceptance to all.

Besides the stage a list of non-hate rules hung and by midday the merch tees with similar phrases on had sold out. The festival included four stages headlined by Solange Knowles and Raphael Saadiq and other performances by Kaytranada, Dizzee Rascal and SZA.

Afropunk festivals are seen globally, recently Alexandra Palace, London was taken over by the celebration and you can also find it in Paris or Atlanta.
