Many Londoners were hugely disappointed this summer as Notting Hill Carnival was cancelled for the first time in 54 years. But fear not, organisers have promised an alternative to the festivities with a virtual event. Notting Hill Carnival: Access All Areas. Will be available to stream on the August Bank Holiday (29th August-31st August).

This digital event will be available globally and will include free online viewings of steel bands, sound systems, performances, interviews and more. Streaming across four channels from 6pm on the 29th August, the event will be partnering with Spotify to bring us that carni feeling from our houses.

Matthew Phillip – Executive Director of Notting Hill Carnival - said: “This year we faced the ultimate challenge of being unable to gather on the streets to celebrate our Carnival. But, now, more than ever, it’s important to keep the spirit of Notting Hill Carnival alive, giving an outlet to the thousands of people that spend all year creating incredible costumes and music for Europe’s largest event.

We were certainly looking forward to this virtual carnival and hope to be back on the streets next year!
