Back in early 2019, Kanye West’s daughter, North West, was spotted in the much anticipated new Yeezy trainer. Following this, the shoe had its runway debut during London Fashion Week February 2020. Finally, Mr West has let slip during an interview that “[we’re sitting here in Wyoming figuring out how to do manufacturing during [Covid-19]. The Foam Runners we’re coming out with in June are our first American manufactured items and we gotta figure out how to do localized manufacturing.”

Whether they are appealing to you or not is a different matter, as the foam runner mirrors a Croc-like perforated upper and unique shape- making it the most unique and diverse adidas YEEZY to date. The US rapper had announced that it was constructed of algae with the colourways being similar to its material, earthy and tonal.

Whilst West hasn’t released a specific date, at least we can hope that by the end of lockdown you’ll be able to walk to your local shops in this newest release. It’s great to see that Kanye is localising manufacturing and producing the trainer from algae materials, perhaps in an environmentally friendly move.
